Junior Secondary School (German Native Language Stream)
Our students in the German-language section of Grades 7 to 9 attend the so-called Mittelstufe of the DSJ.
Lessons in the Mittelstufe are based on the high school curriculum of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and the subject lessons are mainly taught in German.
The special features of the Mittelstufe are diverse and closely linked to social and emotional changes as well as increasing academic demands on learners.
The aim of our work in the Mittelstufe is therefore, on the one hand, to guide and accompany our students on their way to becoming open-minded, mature, independent, responsible, resilient and sometimes “out-of-the-box-thinking”, happy personalities and, on the other hand, to prepare them for the demands of the upper grades.
We achieve this through holistic, cooperative, action-oriented and modern teaching concepts.
Extracurricular highlights in the Mittelstufe certainly include the class trip in Grade 8, the student exchange with Germany for selected students and the literature camp, both in Grade 9.
